Front Lip Installation Guide
Step 1: Gather the Necessary Tools
- Scissors: Used to cut 3M tape slices for easier application.
- 1-inch wide 3M tape: Helps hold the front lip in place before securing it with screws.
- Note: Two-person installation is recommended for safety and accuracy.
Step 2: Prepare & Plan
- Assemble the Front Lip if it's 3 pieces: Use the provided screws to securely connect all three pieces of the front lip together.
- Prepare the Bumper Clips: Locate the two self-tapping clips under the bumper and unclip them. - These clips will be reinserted later, but this time they will go through both the bumper and the front lip for a flush and secure fitment.
- Test Fit the Front Lip: Hold the assembled front lip against the front bumper to determine the best alignment.
- Apply 3M Tape for Extra Security: Once you have an idea of the screw placement, apply 3M tape between those contact points on the front lip.
- Clean the Installation Area: Use a clean microfiber cloth and rubbing alcohol or a mild cleaner to thoroughly clean the surface of the bumper where the front lip will be installed.
Step 3: Align and Install
- Hold the Front Lip in Position: Ask a friend or two to help hold the front lip against the bumper in the correct position.
- Secure with Screws: Using a drill or screwdriver, insert screws through the designated holes in the front lip and into the bumper. - Be sure to space out the screws evenly for a balanced and firm attachment.
- Reinsert the Bumper Clips: The two bumper clips removed earlier must now be reinserted through the front lip and into the bumper.
- Press Along 3M Tape Areas: Firmly press along the areas where the 3M tape was applied.
Final Inspection
- Double-check that the front lip sits flush and securely attached to the bumper.
- Press along all taped areas to ensure proper adhesion.
- Inspect the screws and ensure they are properly tightened without over tightening, which could cause damage.
Post-Installation Guidelines
- Do not wash the car or drive at high speeds for 24 hours to allow the adhesive to fully cure.
- Periodically check the screws and tape to ensure the front lip remains secure over time.
